Lake Mary is about 30 minutes north of downtown Orlando and is considered one of the best places to live in the Orlando area. Nestled in Seminole County, Lake Mary is home to about 14,000 residents and rated by Money Magazine as the #4 best places to live in America.
So what makes Lake Mary so great?
Well, you about 40 minutes to just about everything you would want including Daytona Beach, Disney World, and close to some of the best lakes in the area. It’s just five minutes to the Orlando Sanford International Airport and because of its easy access to Interstate 4, it makes a great destination for those that need to commute or work in downtown Orlando.
Lake Mary also has some of the best restaurants in the immediate area. One of my favorites happens to be F & D Kitchen and Bar. This fabulous American restaurant serves up some tasty food such as their Panzanella Salad and a mean Moscow Mule. Not to be outdone by their charcuterie plate and killer Bloody Marys.
But, Lake Mary has also been rated one of the best places for families by Family Circle Magazine. With our downtown farmers market, wine and art Wednesdays and lots of family friendly events all year long, this city is a wonderful place to live. Plus, we also have some of the best schools in the area. We are part of the Seminole County public school district and we have seven public schools, five private schools, one college and one state college. There’s also a library in the greater Lake Mary area. We have three elementary schools, two middle schools and the Lake Mary high school.
Lake Mary is home to the AAA headquarters and is one of the largest business employers in the area. The Verizon Financial Ctr., Mitsubishi Motors, along with other nationally known companies have headquarters or bases in Lake Mary. This keeps our job growth at an all-time high and employer’s don’t have to commute too far to work.
So what are the home prices like?
Condominiums can start around $120,000 where gorgeous single-family homes with five bedrooms are pretty decently priced at around $430,000. Of course, towards the golf course area and state park homes can run over the $1 million mark. Those on the east side of the freeway tend to be a little less expensive but there’s also condominiums, apartments, and townhouses spread out throughout the city as well.
Basically, there’s a price point for just about any home buyer. Lake Mary sounds like a community you’d like to be a part of, start your home search here for free.
