Every Sunday form 10-4 at the Lake Eola Park in the heart of downtown Orlando local vendors set up carts and tents to display their finest items. Many Orlando area residents make the weekly trip to the farmers market. The Lake Eola or Orlando farmer’s Market has become a very popular and loved fixture.

Originally the farmer’s market was located in a high traffic area next to the I-4 when it started in 1987. The Downtown Development Board started the market to provide the residents of Downtown Orlando with a better shopping opportunity. The market quickly became a hit with locals and tourists alike. With the city growing and improving construction made the location of the market tough to get to so it was relocated to Heritage Square in the ’90’s. Currently the market is at its maximum capacity for vendors. There are a wide variety of goods to browse through in the Orlando Farmer’s Market. There is a great selection of seasonal farm fresh produce form local area farms, the selection is so great that sometimes a chef in full uniform form the area’s finest restaurants can be spotted purchasing quality ingredients for their menu.  Every kind of homemade arts and crafts can be found at the market. Some homemade goods include: soaps, oils, handbags, jewelry, candles, pottery, and stained glass. Bring spot along to enjoy the atmosphere, dogs are welcomed and encouraged to come along, In fact, there are many vendors set up with wares just for your furry pal. Grab a gourmet doggie biscuit or adorable sweater for your four legged shopping buddy. One of the most unique features of this farmer’s market is the beer garden and outdoor eating area. The Orlando Farmer’s Market’s newest location in Lake Eola Park makes for an amazing atmosphere and a great way to spend a somewhat lazy Sunday afternoon.
