Wait, you haven’t heard about Rose Isle? This darling little neighborhood in Orlando, rated one of the best in the Orlando Metro area? Well, that I have to tell you about this amazing little neighborhood. It’s located north of downtown just off of Interstate 4 with easy access to the Orlando Science Center. It sits between two lakes, Lake Rowena and Lake Sue but N. Mills Ave. runs north and south through the middle of the smaller Lake, called Lake Estelle, which half of the lake is part of Rose Isle.
This is really a very small neighborhood made up of just a few roads such as Norfolk Rd., Shrewsberry Road, Shoreham Road and Lakeshore Drive. So what’s the big deal about it?
Websites such as area bites.com gave it and 83 on the livability scale. It was rated A+ for amenities, employment, housing and of course, our beautiful weather. He received a B+ on education but the cost of living actually received and asked because of its high, luxury pricing. However, when it comes to the real estate market in this neighborhood it does have a very stable housing market. It’s livability score compared to the rest of Florida, which is only 68 and the national average which is a 66, does come in a lot higher. But the cost of living is 32% higher than most of Orlando.
Does that matter if you’re looking for a waterfront luxury home? Probably not. Well, I’m not saying you’re not watching your pennies but if you’re looking for the best of amenities, low crime, and great employment, the cost of living might be a little further down on your list.
Let’s take a look at a popular neighborhood website called Nextdoor. This shows the average age of people in Rose Isle to be about 50 years old with 96% homeowners. It has a small population of fewer than 340 people. What did neighbors talk about? Recommendations, local sales, mom information, updates on it missing or found cats or dogs, the Orange County animal shelter donations and where to buy certain things.
